Whoa, Its November!

Ralph and the Great Pumpkin!
How in the world is it November already??? This year has flown by so fast. I have missed blogging so much, although I have enjoyed my break spending some much needed time learning how to be a wife, homemaker, and balancing life. I haven't come close to perfecting any of that but I live in the grace of God and the love of my sweet husband.

I will post soon about our whimsical wedding! It was really the most perfect day!

So, in other news, we had a freezing weekend here on the East Coast. Im talking record chills for this time of year! But never fear Soup Season is HERE!! I found this delicious recipe on the Yummly app (which I must say is the best app) for Pilgrim Stew!
The recipe was provided by Wholehearted Eats .

I have been hard at work finding an awesome coffee cozy pattern that I love! I use one of these cuties everyday but I love experimenting with new patterns. Right now I am super in love with the pocket on the pink cozy! Let me know what you think? And for those who are interested I sell them HERE on my shop.

I hope ya'll have a wonderful week!!

Connemara Baked Custard

This weekend while I was catching up on some crocheting projects I decided to make some of these Connemara Baked Custards. They are perfect on cold and rainy afternoon!

Baked Custard
Beat with rotary beater:
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
21 ounces milk (the richer the better, perferaly goat's milk) I have also used coconut milk and they turned out wonderful!

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Put a small amount of brown sugar in 4-5 oven proof custard cups or baking dish, pour in custard, sprinkle with nutmeg. Set the dishes or dish in a 2 1/2 in deep pan and pour cold water around them. Bake for 1:15 to 1:30 hours. Remove from water and cool.

The recipe was adapted from the North Carolina Plantations and Historic Homes Cookbook. This particular version was giving by the Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock, NC. Happy Baking!

Cozy Sunday

The weekend has been wonderful! We picked out and decorated our family live christmas tree, baked cookies, and watched plenty of Christmas movies! God is so good! Jesus is the great comforter. This week tragedy has hit our nation once again, the evil one tries to cause us to question God and blame him for letting such things happen. But, I want to encourage you that it is not God who is to blame for such catastrophe. There is so much bad in the world and people have a free will to do what ever they like. Jesus is there to comfort us through the Holy Spirit!!! I pray that all those affected by the shooting and the parents of all the children would rely on God to give them strength and comfort in this time of trial! I pray blessings to all of them! My Gods hand rest upon their hearts!

(There is no way to make peanut butter look pretty!)

They are soo yummy!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Delights
2 1/2 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter
Dash salt
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 1/2 c. quick rolled oats (I used 3 cups)
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, cocoa, milk, butter, and salt together. Cook 3 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, oats, and vanilla. Drop by teaspoons on wax paper (I use an ice cream scoop.) Makes approximately 32 cookies.

The Copper Pot

"The Copper Pot"
A Brick Oven Eatery

On Sunday the Mr. and I went and took engagement photos in the cute little town of Clarkesville, GA! We had an absolute blast being all cute and lovey for the pictures! (I will let y'all know how that went on a later post) Afterward we went to the only restaurant open which was a brick oven pizza place! It was fantastic! Quite possibly the best pizza I have ever had (and I'm not that big in to pizza).

Mr. also had a salad but we forgot to take a picture. He had a goat cheese and walnut salad with cranberries and the house dressing! It was superb.
  • yummy (did I mention it was freezing in North Georgia?)

  • We ordered The Big Cheese Pizza that had 3 types of cheese! Goat cheese, mozzarella, and something very sharp! Slices of Heaven!

We also were given this delicious dessert. Pizza dough covered in cinnamon sugar and fried with melted icing to dip.
    BLISS!

This was a fabulous meal to end our day!

    2 Years and Counting!

Going out for our 2 year anniversary!
The Mr. took me to P.F.Changs, one of my all time favorite places! Then to see the movie "Argo" which I would strongly recommend to everyone. And we never go to a "big city" with out getting coffee! The whole night was Bliss!
    Our cuttsie hipster pose.
We made breakfast for our amazing church on Sunday morning. I made semi-homemade cinnamon sticky buns. They were so easy to make in the morning before church and were so tasty!

    "Non-Sticky" Buns

    Reynolds Wrap® Non-Stick Foil
    1/2
    cup packed brown sugar
    3
    tablespoons butter OR margarine, melted
    2
    tablespoons light corn syrup
    1/2
    cup coarsely chopped pecans
    2
cans (about 1 lb. each) big cinnamon rolls

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with Reynolds Wrap Non-Stick Foil with non-stick side toward food.

COMBINE brown sugar, butter and corn syrup; pour mixture in foil-lined pan. Sprinkle evenly with pecans. Place cinnamon rolls on top of syrup.

BAKE 25 to 29 minutes or until rolls are golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes. Invert onto platter. Remove foil. Serve warm./span

    Number of Servings: 10

    Enjoy!

    Pumpkin Scones

As promised I did find time last weekend to make these delicious scones by The Shoebox Kitchen. They turned out amazing and probably the best I have ever made scones!
They were gone so quickly that I only got time to take one picture of them and you will notice I did not do all of the icing that they did. And another little tidbit I just used the pumpkin pie spice mix in stead of all the separate spices. I believe another batch is soon to arrive in my home soon!

We also attended the 7th anual Greek Festval and it was amazing! I am slightly obsessed with festivals!

I found this cute little book for a dollar at the Greek Festival and I can not wait to read it!

I would have to say the Mr. and I have had such a wonderful week/weekend! Now back to studying my brains out!

    Oh Pumpkins

Amongst my crazy college life (meaning no life) I took some time out to meander though pinterest the other day. On that journey floated to reality for a split second to realize that fall is coming!! Oh how this excites me! I just adore fall with the changing of leaves, cooler days, the smell of a fire coming from neighbors chimneys, and most of all PUMPKINS! To me pumpkins have everything to do with fall! So back to my pinterest travels yesterday; I wandered upon newly posted recipes and almost everyone of them had something to do with pumpkin. My day was made. So as soon as I get some free time on a weekend I will make some delicious treats!

    Thanks!

    Birthday Celebrations!

This week I celebrated my 23 birthday! It feels so weird having another birthday because I don't feel that I have felt my age since I was 15. But this week has been such a blessing and I am still in awe of the love shown to me!
What is a birthday with out coffee and Trader Joe's?

My Birthday present from my parents were a pair of new running shoes from Try Sports! I got these amazing Saucony's that fit like a dream! And I completed my delayed autumn goal of being able to run a 5K by my birthday which i did the night before my birthday!!!! I am soo thrilled beyond words!!!!!!!

The best family game in the world was played a lot this weekend called Dutch Blitz
I would highly recommend this game to any family!
My lovely Mister sent me the most beautiful flowers on my birthday even though he was away working at our church camp.

I would have to say this was a fantastic birthday and I am so thankful!

    Rosie's Coffee and Tea Shop

This is Rosie's Coffee Shop. Located in downtown Winston Salem NC this little coffee house used to be home of the Brew Nerds coffee. Brew Nerds used to be my absolute favorite coffee shop when attending the anual Homeschool convention. The dashing lady is now renting in the Nerds former coffee laboratory.   She as made it in to her own! Rosie's is sweetly managed with individual attention and care.
This is my mom ordering one of the best Cappuccino I have ever had!!

For breakfast my mom a cinnamon something (which she said was wonderful) and I had a blueberry muffin and a fantastic cappuccino!
Rosie's Coffee shop had the best on the go breakfast! I would recommend this place when traveling through Winston Salem. Also before you head there check her Facebook Page to see any specials she might be offering. But even with out a special her prices are very modest!
If I were you I would not pass this place up!

    A Blissful Fall Weekend

Tony and I got to spend another weekend together! He drove to school for the David Crowder Band concert on Thursday and then stayed till Sunday!  It was so wonderful to have him near by and not 5 hours away! The David Crowder Band is on their last tour together so it was a wonderful treat to be at the concert.

Sadly there was still work to be done so while he was here we studied at the Library like old times!
My man can make me smile no matter what!!!!

This was our view on the way to church Sunday morning! I love fall!

Then after church we caught up on some Saturday night live!

    French press from Starbucks!

I think our lives are centered around coffee!

Well that was my weekend! How was yours?
